Waterproof nubuck leather and a molded rubber toe bumper are combined with large areas of highly abrasion-resistant air mesh for trail durability and superior breathability. An air mesh tongue with full gusset keeps out dust and debris. Webbing speed-lacing eyelets plus durable metal hooks in the upper cuff allow for fast and precise closure. GORE-TEX® with Extended Comfort Technology membrane is the most breathable waterproof membrane available.

Vasque exclusive Vibram® Contact sole with XSTrek Compound is designed with a mix of geometric, organic and serrated lugs for excellent stability and traction in loose, uneven terrain. A defined heel brake provides positive control on steep descents. The dual density EVA midsole is inspired by athletic shoe design, giving ample cushioning during heel strike and providing a stable platform for toe-off propulsion. A molded TPU plate gives structure to the mid-foot while a wishbone shape supports the metatarsals, resisting lateral flex, for a very stable trail platform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by will martin These boots are simply comfortable and they look great too. I also love the color that this boot comes in.. June 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I wouldn't hike in anything else I frequently travel out west and enjoy hiking in the national parks. Wearing these boots, I have hiked in the desert, in the red rock canyons of Utah and Nevada, and last fall, on a hike to Panorama Point, Mt. Rainier. These boots were comfortable right out of the box (be sure to get a half size larger than your normal size to accomodate foot swelling on long hikes) and have proven comfortable regardless of terrain. I have hiked for hours over rocky terrain and my feet are not bothered one bit. Keep in mind, these are Gortex and if wearing wool socks your foot may get damp from sweating, but I have never had an issue with water getting in and I have walked in torrential rain and puddles in them. I love the higher tops as they provide excellent ankle support and have probably saved me from a few sprained ankles. The traction is excellent in nearly all conditions. I own two pair of Vasque hiking boots and I will remain a loyal customer as long as they keep building boots this great. I simply don't think there is a better boot out there. April 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent boot! I recently went backpacking in Alaska for a month using the Breeze 2.0. They are an amazing boot, very comfortable, and all around an amazingly awesome boot!! May 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vasque Hiking Boot Breeze 2.0 GTX I was preparing for a climb to Mt Rainier and chose this boot. Immediately the boot felt good sliding it on and didn't need my orthotics, which is a rarity with finding good shoes. I wore these boots to Mt. Rainier, Helmcken Falls in British Columbia, with a lot of hiking and urban terrain in between. This is an excellent pair of boots. Since the year I've used them, they've become my partner in every thing i do. This boot is as sturdy a boot i have ever worn. I have never turned my ankle in them which is a big plus on uneven terrain. However, now the boot is showing its wear and having been wet so many times, they are starting to curve upward, necessitating the need to replace them. Honestly, these boots have gone on a lot of my adventures and they're still sturdy enough to wear. I'm gonna keep my first pair of Vasques for posterity's sake. If you want an excellent boot and partner on your adventures, get a pair. you wont be disappointed. Always go one half size up for foot swelling after long walks or climbs. May 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by bishme21 I have owned these for almost three years now. The shoes have held up to everything I ever tried to do with them from local hikes to wood cutting. Last summer I did the 100 Mile Wilderness of the AT without even a blister. Excellent boots and well worth the money. I will be buying another pair for this year's hikes. February 20, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Philadelphia Nature Photographer I gave these boots a 4-star rating and fair in performance because they did not keep my feet dry. These boots are marketed as waterproof. To me waterproof means that if I cross a shallow ford and water does not go over the top of the boots or I stand in the same water that is about 2"-3" deep for a few minutes my feet should stay completely dry. I was wearing them for the second time, walked less than 5 miles in them, and my feet got damp after standing in the shallow water for about 10 minutes while composing and taking a photograph. Otherwise, they are very comfortable and have been since putting them on the first time. March 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thanks for an awesome hiking boot that works and is comfortable!!! I originally bought the medium version of these boots from REI. After a few days just feeling like something was off and noticing that when laced up tight the side panels were too close together I happened upon the Vasque website and noticed the grey color can be had in a narrow version. I had to find them other than at REI as REI refuses to carry narrow boots but all I can say is wow!!! After a very short break in period ( a few miles) these things are amazing. On my first hike with these I stepped wrong on a loose rock on a downhill and fully rolled my ankle but thanks to the awesome support there was no injury whatsoever. 3 steps later I didn't even feel it. I know with a trail runner that would've been a hike ending injury. Initially I was a big proponent of replacing boots with trail running shoes but the Breeze's have changed my mind. I own very high performance Pearl Izumi trail running shoes and after hiking the same mountain in the trail runners and then with the Breeze's my joints and muscles simply hurt less after using the Breeze GTX's. Even though they are a bit heavier than trail runners they are way easier on knees, ankles, calves, etc. I was pleasantly proven wrong as I really wanted the Izumi's to win. Vasque, please keep on making quality narrow boots as the narrow width seems to be widely neglected by other manufacturers. Last but not least I wanted to comment on the grip...I have yet to try these in the wet but I have tried them at crazy odd angles when scrambling at Joshua tree, on loose slate downhills, and in steep sandy dirt and these have yet to slip. The grip is amazing!!! I was able to stop and stand at the top of a steep boulder and film a quick video on an incline I couldn't even climb with trail runners. Thanks for a quality product that works!!! February 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs small When I first tried on these boots in the store they felt great. I wore them around the house during a weekend trip to the mountains. I had some old Vasque hiking boots that I used for my hikes so I didn't get to really test these on some up and down trails. After several more times wearing them around flat surfaces, I tried these boots out on some steep downhill trails and my toes were really pushed up against the end of the boot. The surface is hard. I bought a size 8, and this size always worked for me in the past. In fact, I also have some Vasque trail runners in a size 8. I really needed a size 8.5. Long story short, these boots cannot be used for hiking. I guess they will become my casual walkers since I can't exchange them now. January 11, 2016
