Waterproof nubuck leather and a molded rubber toe bumper are combined with large areas of highly abrasion-resistant air mesh for trail durability and superior breathability. An air mesh tongue with full gusset keeps out dust and debris. Webbing speed-lacing eyelets plus durable metal hooks in the upper cuff allow for fast and precise closure. GORE-TEX® with Extended Comfort Technology membrane is the most breathable waterproof membrane available.

Vasque exclusive Vibram® Contact sole with XSTrek Compound is designed with a mix of geometric, organic and serrated lugs for excellent stability and traction in loose, uneven terrain. A defined heel brake provides positive control on steep descents. The dual density EVA midsole is inspired by athletic shoe design, giving ample cushioning during heel strike and providing a stable platform for toe-off propulsion. A molded TPU plate gives structure to the mid-foot while a wishbone shape supports the metatarsals, resisting lateral flex, for a very stable trail platform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 300+ miles After 3 years of hiking and 300+ miles in the dirt, these boots are still amazing. I am a Boy Scout and wore these boots for 2 years before taking them to Philmont for another 100 miles. They performed flawlessly. Waterproofing was still bullet proof. The sole held up well. Laces never broke. If you need boots for your son, these are them. Incredible return on investment. Extremely comfortable. Can't say enough about these boots. August 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing After going on a 96 mile hike through the Scottish Highlands, I couldn't be more happy with these boots. Even after several days of rain, my feet stayed dry and dried quickly after I managed to fall waist deep into a bog. Other than several blisters, these boots are quite comfortable. August 10, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Highly comfortable, but waterproof failes!!! As a hiker/tracker who suffers on the heel – these boots (the waterproof version-GTX) were found as most comfortable after a long selection… But… After a single month of use (6 hiking days) – stepping in water of 2-3 inches depth resulted by immediate penetration of water. Changing to a new pair resulted the same by a controlled test (immersing in water for 30 seconds. August 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing boot I try and hike as often as possible and I have to say these are amazing boots, best traction ive experienced. These are very light, very breathable and very waterproof. I recently slipped off a slimy rock into the river and conpletly submerged the boot all the way to the ankles, thought my day was ruined until I realized my feet were in fact still dry. Great product, I highly recomend them. August 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Shoes I've ever purchased Let me start with I am not incredibly outdoorsy. My job sent me out into the wilderness for three weeks working on a TV show I wore these for around 14 hours a day, walking miles and miles. I wore these shoes in 3 feet of snow, in pouring down rain, my feet never got wet. I wore them on rocks, in caves, on a mountain, dirt, mud, and sand. GREAT ankle protection, and overall comfortable. Best shoe purchase I've ever made. June 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hiking boot at its finest. This is a great all around hiking boot. While at work and standing on concrete all day, I wear my Redwing work boots. The rest of the time I am wearing my Vasque Breeze boots. These are great around the house, going for walks, hikes and the beach. I wear them around the house and when I drive into the city. I feel like these boots can be at home in any situation and any environment. Ohhh and get this....I wear them as my jogging shoes to jog around town. Yep, a hiking boot that works as a running shoe. Holy smopes. Other than for standing on concrete all day, these are my go to shoes for every other part of life. Buy a pair, you will love them. May 31, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Replacing boots because of worn soles These boots are wonderfully comfortable, needing no break-in time. I especially like that they are available in 7-wide for women. I have had my boots for something under 2 years and they still provide excellent support. The uppers are in great condition and would likely be serviceable for many more years IF the soles weren't so worn. The way they are constructed, my local shoe repair guy can't replace the soles. I am very disappointed the boots didn't last longer. It makes me wonder what a reasonable life expectancy is for these boots. I do a fair amount of trail hiking, over some rocks and other rough surfaces, and probably an equal amount of city/suburban sidewalk-walking. May 13, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Total failure in the rain I bought a pair last summer to use for backpacking. The first heavy rain and my feet were soaked within an hour ( stopping regularly to wring water out of my socks!!) and they stayed that way while the rain lasted for two days. REI replaced the boots and I thought to try again since the boots fit my feet just right. Just got back from backpacking in the desert where it rained heavily for a day. Again, my feet were soaked within an hour. DO NOT buy these boots if you like to stay dry in the rain. May 8, 2015
