Waterproof nubuck leather and a molded rubber toe bumper are combined with large areas of highly abrasion-resistant air mesh for trail durability and superior breathability. An air mesh tongue with full gusset keeps out dust and debris. Webbing speed-lacing eyelets plus durable metal hooks in the upper cuff allow for fast and precise closure. GORE-TEX® with Extended Comfort Technology membrane is the most breathable waterproof membrane available.

Vasque exclusive Vibram® Contact sole with XSTrek Compound is designed with a mix of geometric, organic and serrated lugs for excellent stability and traction in loose, uneven terrain. A defined heel brake provides positive control on steep descents. The dual density EVA midsole is inspired by athletic shoe design, giving ample cushioning during heel strike and providing a stable platform for toe-off propulsion. A molded TPU plate gives structure to the mid-foot while a wishbone shape supports the metatarsals, resisting lateral flex, for a very stable trail platform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Swamp Hiking After eight years I finally gave up my older pair of Vasque for the new Breeze 2.0 and I love them. I hike quite a bit in the swamps here in the beauty of WNY and I needed new solid boots. The two things stood out to me that stood above the other features that one would expect, such as being out of the box wearable, was 1) the warmth and 2) the gripping lugs that saved me from an unexpected potential wipeout. 1) My first time wearing them out on a hike I wore my wool merino socks along with the sock liner for it was in December and we have been having storms like crazy. While hiking I had to stop and remove my outer socks and just wear the liner because it was too hot. This is a huge game changer for me in my hikes and camps. 2) My friend and I took a quick hiking trip after a chill that froze the swamps and the paths. Well, we were not being as cautious with our walking as we should have when we stepped out into a path Nicole wiped out and when I should have wiped out my amazing gripping lugs held me in place even on ice and I didn't suffer her fate ... she has since purchased a Breeze 2.0 but the African Violet color Thank you so much for a fantastic boot that is lightweight, warm and waterproof from the slop that we mucked around in. Rated 4 out of 5 by I love these boots, although they are not waterproof I love these boots I have probably put around 400-500 miles on them. They are very light and quite comfortable even before the break in period. My only complaint is that they are not waterproof. They are very water resistant however they are not waterproof. Also ironically water comes in from the sole not the sides. Putting that flaw aside these are great boots for the summer in a dry to wet but not raining environment. If you want a great spring, fall, summer backpacking boot I recommend them. February 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boot, some issues. This is my second pair of Breeze GTX. It is one of the most comfortable boots I have ever owned ( right out of the box ). I truely enjoyed wearing them for the first year or so. They are not waterproof, you can expect your socks to get wet after any type of emersion ( even heavy snow ). The boots were great for a year, but are now causing blisters on my big toes (did not have this problem on the first pair). I have contacted customer care and are sending the boots back for review. Will write again after their response. January 2, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by It Hurts I bought these based on great reviews, however, they hurt in odd places. The narrowing at the toe hurts my pinky toe with the next size up being way too big. Also, for some reason where the metal clasp is on the anterior ankle will put pressure on the bone after less than 1 hour of hiking despite any amount of cushioning applied. I initially thought these defects were because of the breaking in period but failed to go away despite 50+ miles of hiking and daily use. I expected more out of this boot but will have to look elsewhere. December 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Do as asked Normally I wear either heavier leather boots for backpacking and scrambling or my running shoes for easy days on the trail, but for a trip through South America I couldn't really justify bringing both. So these entered my life. And they perform as expected for a day hike/light backpacking boot. They were comfortable for long days on my feet wandering new cities and their light weight meant I didn't mind wearing them as an everyday shoe. They did fine for day hikes and even backpacking trips on established trails. They did start to struggle once they were faced with scrambling up some of the volcanoes, especially for sidehilling and descending on loose scree and sand - they felt sloppy in the foot and too soft in the cuff. Add in a heavy backpack to this mix and they felt even sketchier. But that's not what they were designed for, so if anything they did better than expected. My feet did get cold as the temperatures dropped close to 0C, but they're a summer boot and it meant my feet were still happy when temperatures were up in the 25-30C range. Quality-wise I have no complaints. My feet were comfortable and stayed dry in the rain and shallow creeks they encountered. I didn't get any blisters and there was no break in period. The sole grips well on rock, mud, and snow. They kept sand and rocks out much better than several of my friend's boots. The rubber toe cap provides some extra durability and they still look almost new after close to 50 days of wear. November 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great company Their boots are second to know one's. Comfortable right out of the box. Vasques customer service is the best. They have never failed me in any respect with their boots. They truly stand behind their products. Will only buy Vasque boots. Thanks. September 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good in all areas I found these to be more rugged than expected, while being lightweight and the sole is flexible enough to adapt to uneven surfaces. I had the Wasatch boot, which is stiffer, and found that I would slip on uneven surfaces because the sole wasn't flexible enough to touch both surfaces at the same time. The Breeze 2.0 does it all -I couldn't be happier. September 6, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Good with exceptions This boot is comfortable and well made. However, there is a seam or welt on the inside where the top cap slopes down to meet the sole. This inside seam rides across my little toe in the boot on both the left and right sides. This makes the boots extremely uncomfortable; definitely can't wear more than an hour or two. Hence, these are destined for an early and unused retirement. At $169.00, I don't see me running out for a replacement immediately and will fall back to one of my older hiking boots. I'm gonna blame my body design. Didn't notice this until I'd worn these a number of time outdoors. I'd still buy the brand, but not this style. October 4, 2014
