Waterproof nubuck leather and a molded rubber toe bumper are combined with large areas of highly abrasion-resistant air mesh for trail durability and superior breathability. An air mesh tongue with full gusset keeps out dust and debris. Webbing speed-lacing eyelets plus durable metal hooks in the upper cuff allow for fast and precise closure. GORE-TEX® with Extended Comfort Technology membrane is the most breathable waterproof membrane available.

Vasque exclusive Vibram® Contact sole with XSTrek Compound is designed with a mix of geometric, organic and serrated lugs for excellent stability and traction in loose, uneven terrain. A defined heel brake provides positive control on steep descents. The dual density EVA midsole is inspired by athletic shoe design, giving ample cushioning during heel strike and providing a stable platform for toe-off propulsion. A molded TPU plate gives structure to the mid-foot while a wishbone shape supports the metatarsals, resisting lateral flex, for a very stable trail platform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boots I bought these boots 2 years ago after going thru pairs of M brand. Before buying I must have tried 10 different brands and was about to give up and just settle for a ok fit. Well a couple days later I walked into REI and explained my problem and the sales girl ask if I tried Vasque brand I never heard of them and as soon as I had them on I new I found my boots. Still going strong. Just a side note I have diebatic neuropathy and my feet are fine in these boots October 8, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Issues with these boots I had mine for 6.5 months and wore them out? I had my last pair over six years, I hike maybe 50 miles a week. I made REI exchange them. Boots at that price shouldn't wear out that fast. REI then told me that the next time they won't exchange them being worn out. I will be taking my new pair back again. Wearing again or I will contact with the Mfg, November 21, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by My Vasque Breeze 2.0 gtx gore tex liner failed immediately I bought the Breeze2.0 GTX boot for light weight hiking. The fit was excellent at first. On the second day hike in them, I noticed the lining in the toe box was no longer attached to the top. My 16 year old son said his Breeze 2.0 GTX did the same thing. After about 6 more day hikes, the gore-tex liner failed. Now your feet get wet in 2 inches of water or even walking in rain. Also, the rubber Vibram sole is very slippery when doing any rock hopping in creeks. Much more so than any boot I have every worn in the past 40 years. These boots may be great in a dry desert but not in wet regions of the USA . I would not recommend these boots and would suggest you save a little more money and upgrade to a better boot. Better to have a $200 boot that works than a $150 boot that fails. FYI my first Vasque boots were 1973 Hiker II's back when they were made in Europe. They were the best boot ever. October 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by best boot I've ever purchased. I wear these boots to work 5-6 days a week 8 hours a day and they are phenomenal. All day I walk through customers yards in wet grass and in rain and my feet have never once gotten wet and the boots are still intact. Had them now for just over 2 years and haven't had to retreat them for waterproofing. They did take a few days to really break in but the out of box feel was still better than most boots i have purchased. Ive tried many other brands of boots looking for a pair that would last at least a year and vasque is the only brand so far that has passed and even exceeded my expectations. Great boots! Rated 4 out of 5 by Different from originals but still great Original Breeze GTX was my favorite shoe of all time. Out of box comfort. Wides fit my feet like a glove. Stayed waterproof for 3 yrs with no treatment. If I had to nit pick the originals I would have said they could have used a little more support (Im 210 lbs.... They were great for hiking and everyday wear but not for backpacking.) The 2.0 does not have the out of box comfort I was expecting. The fit in the toe box is slightly narrower and a little stiffer than the originals. The sole/insole combination is also stiffer but does offer more support. The 2.0 is still a great shoe that I would highly recommend. Does take a few days to break-in. October 29, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very comfortable Great fit and feel. Most comfortable boots I've ever worn, but the fit and finish was poor. The seam stitching broke out after a couple months and the toe cap came unglued about the same time. I took them back to REI for a full refund after 5 months and got a pair of Vasque Trek Mid Ultra Dry. I'm still a Vasque believer, just not a fan of the Breeze 2.0. October 27, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Vasque Breeze 2 GTX October 2015- Solid performer but OUCH! on anything other than flat and short I originally posted this as a comment to other reviews here by people who experienced the same problems as I did, but I want to express my comments as an actual review. This is very rare for me to leave negative criticism (I'm generally more of an atta-boy type person# but I hope to save others from my mistake, as you don't really experience the deficits of the boot until later in use. Here's my review: October 2015 - I've had similar experience [as others here] and wish I had found these reviews sooner. I originally intended to replace my previous Lowa Renegade GTX Mid boots with another pair of the same, but instead took a chance on the Vasque Breeze 2.0 GTX. It was an expensive mistake and I regret the purchase. The Breeze 2's seemed great out of the box and performed adequately and kept my feet dry on several short trail hikes, but once I began slightly longer/more demanding trails I found them to be very uncomfortable. It seems the toe box is too small #my pinky toes were screaming with pain three hours in on a moderate trail hiking.# Also noticed strain on bottom of my heel and across the top of my foot, as though the soles weren't quite thick enough and the boot didn't have that sweet spot between stability and flexibility I've enjoyed in all my previous hike boots. Note, too, that I have a very average size foot, not wide or with unusual needs of any kind. I've been wearing hiking boots and trail runners for 30+ years #both packing and no-load.) I choose carefully for fit, I know how to properly lace etc., and I wear the appropriate socks, etc., and yet these surprised me, and not in a good way. My husband wears Vasque trail runners and he loves them, but these Breeze 2 hike boots are now relegated to short/level trail walking because they become painful for anything more lengthy and/or demanding. A very expensive boot for such limited purpose. October 12, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Climbed Longs-boots failed me Boots essentially wore out in two weeks of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Grip was pathetic on the granite of Longs Peak. Sole shows significant wear. Not the quality of my old Sundowners? October 2, 2015
