After 3 years of hiking and 300+ miles in the dirt, these boots are still amazing. I am a Boy Scout and wore these boots for 2 years before taking them to Philmont for another 100 miles. They performed flawlessly. Waterproofing was still bullet proof. The sole held up well. Laces never broke. If you need boots for your son, these are them. Incredible return on investment. Extremely comfortable. Can't say enough about these boots.

I try and hike as often as possible and I have to say these are amazing boots, best traction ive experienced. These are very light, very breathable and very waterproof. I recently slipped off a slimy rock into the river and conpletly submerged the boot all the way to the ankles, thought my day was ruined until I realized my feet were in fact still dry. Great product, I highly recomend them.

After going on a 96 mile hike through the Scottish Highlands, I couldn't be more happy with these boots. Even after several days of rain, my feet stayed dry and dried quickly after I managed to fall waist deep into a bog. Other than several blisters, these boots are quite comfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Myron Highly comfortable, but waterproof failes!!!
As a hiker/tracker who suffers on the heel â these boots (the waterproof version-GTX) were found as most comfortable after a long selection⦠But⦠After a single month of use (6 hiking days) â stepping in water of 2-3 inches depth resulted by immediate penetration of water. Changing to a new pair resulted the same by a controlled test (immersing in water for 30 seconds.

This is a great all around hiking boot. While at work and standing on concrete all day, I wear my Redwing work boots. The rest of the time I am wearing my Vasque Breeze boots. These are great around the house, going for walks, hikes and the beach. I wear them around the house and when I drive into the city. I feel like these boots can be at home in any situation and any environment. Ohhh and get this....I wear them as my jogging shoes to jog around town. Yep, a hiking boot that works as a running shoe. Holy smopes.
Other than for standing on concrete all day, these are my go to shoes for every other part of life. Buy a pair, you will love them.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by KatieTN Best Shoes I've ever purchased
Let me start with I am not incredibly outdoorsy. My job sent me out into the wilderness for three weeks working on a TV show I wore these for around 14 hours a day, walking miles and miles. I wore these shoes in 3 feet of snow, in pouring down rain, my feet never got wet. I wore them on rocks, in caves, on a mountain, dirt, mud, and sand. GREAT ankle protection, and overall comfortable. Best shoe purchase I've ever made.

I bought a pair last summer to use for backpacking. The first heavy rain and my feet were soaked within an hour ( stopping regularly to wring water out of my socks!!) and they stayed that way while the rain lasted for two days. REI replaced the boots and I thought to try again since the boots fit my feet just right. Just got back from backpacking in the desert where it rained heavily for a day. Again, my feet were soaked within an hour. DO NOT buy these boots if you like to stay dry in the rain.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Eric Best lightweight hiking boot I ever bought AND waterproof
I really have not experienced any of the problems of other purchasers of the Breeze. I have found its performance outstanding in almost every category. I bought my first pair in 2014 in anticipation of walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I needed a lightweight, very flexible, very waterproof boot because of certain foot issues of my own. A very rigid, heavier boot for 500 miles on uneven terrain was just going to kill my feet. I wore the breeze every day for 25-30 kilometers, with a custom orthopedic insert and Smartwool medium cushion hiking socks. Not once in the 500 miles did I get blisters or any other sores- unlike most of my fellow travelers. It rained for several days in the Pyrenees Mountains, and I only got MINIMAL water intrusion. I am still wearing these a year later just for yard work, and the only thing thats starting to fail is the seal on the rubber toe guards. In the meantime, I've bought two extra. pairs for future trips. Don't forget that on any very long hike, even with the best cushioning inside, any abnormally high toe or individual bone structure may give you discomfort. Thats what moleskin and bandages are for.
