Rated 5 out of 5Â by Peter58 Retiring soon, Breeze GTX, best boots I have had.
I have friends who will tell stories of traveling with me which shows what a professional photographer, who is never easy on equipment has done with these Vasque Breeze GTX after 3 years of almost daily use. Bought a new pair 2 years ago, yet to wear them.
Very good boots, Thinsulate is a bit hot in the deserts I worked & in the tropical conditions of Mexico where I am at the writing of this review.
However it breathes well, so at the end of the day I still like my feet. However very Glad I bought the 2nd pair to be ready when needed.
Snow of the High Sierras, to Western USA deserts, street/photojournalism, night photographer, landscape photographer never know what I might step on or in. Never a concern with these on and less than 6 inches deep of water.
I am also considering having this Old pair resoled because of the insides on uppers are in good repair.

Without a doubt the best hiking boots I've ever owned. Hiked to the summit of Mt. Whitney and back in one day. 22miles round trip. No hot spots or blisters.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Outdoorjon Great all around boot
I bought these last year and have put over 3,000 miles on them and they are nowhere near ready to be replaced! When I bought them I got a medium but had to modify the end of the toe box because they were a little tight. Break in took about 30 miles to be perfect and only about 15 miles to adjust to how I walk. The only con I have found is they can be a little slick in wet weather but considering how much harder the sole is and how much longer the tread lasts over other boots it's an ok trade off. I use these on everything from concrete to rocky terrain and sand. I have crossed many rivers and have abused these things beyond what they are intended to withstand!

I was preparing for a climb to Mt Rainier and chose this boot. Immediately the boot felt good sliding it on and didn't need my orthotics, which is a rarity with finding good shoes.
I wore these boots to Mt. Rainier, Helmcken Falls in British Columbia, with a lot of hiking and urban terrain in between. This is an excellent pair of boots. Since the year I've used them, they've become my partner in every thing i do. This boot is as sturdy a boot i have ever worn. I have never turned my ankle in them which is a big plus on uneven terrain. However, now the boot is showing its wear and having been wet so many times, they are starting to curve upward, necessitating the need to replace them. Honestly, these boots have gone on a lot of my adventures and they're still sturdy enough to wear. I'm gonna keep my first pair of Vasques for posterity's sake. If you want an excellent boot and partner on your adventures, get a pair. you wont be disappointed. Always go one half size up for foot swelling after long walks or climbs.

I gave these boots a 4-star rating and fair in performance because they did not keep my feet dry. These boots are marketed as waterproof. To me waterproof means that if I cross a shallow ford and water does not go over the top of the boots or I stand in the same water that is about 2"-3" deep for a few minutes my feet should stay completely dry. I was wearing them for the second time, walked less than 5 miles in them, and my feet got damp after standing in the shallow water for about 10 minutes while composing and taking a photograph. Otherwise, they are very comfortable and have been since putting them on the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by LuvtheWest I wouldn't hike in anything else
I frequently travel out west and enjoy hiking in the national parks. Wearing these boots, I have hiked in the desert, in the red rock canyons of Utah and Nevada, and last fall, on a hike to Panorama Point, Mt. Rainier. These boots were comfortable right out of the box (be sure to get a half size larger than your normal size to accomodate foot swelling on long hikes) and have proven comfortable regardless of terrain. I have hiked for hours over rocky terrain and my feet are not bothered one bit. Keep in mind, these are Gortex and if wearing wool socks your foot may get damp from sweating, but I have never had an issue with water getting in and I have walked in torrential rain and puddles in them. I love the higher tops as they provide excellent ankle support and have probably saved me from a few sprained ankles. The traction is excellent in nearly all conditions. I own two pair of Vasque hiking boots and I will remain a loyal customer as long as they keep building boots this great. I simply don't think there is a better boot out there.
