by CSG1988 Taku GTX -- Great boots!
I bought the Taku GTX boots for a recent hiking trip in western Canada. The boots were awesome - I wore them several times before the trip to break them in for shorter walks and even around the house. We hiked anywhere from 8km - 15km per day on the trip. I had absolutely no issues with my feet! We encountered rain, a bit of snow, and sunshine. My feet were dry, comfortable and protected the entire time! There was a range of terrain (boulders/rock, pebble/dirt trail, over 1000m elevation gain) and the boots performed great in all. Would definitely recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by paddles Love Vasque, but this one gave me blisters on both heels :(
This boots are great, well contracted, very durable and premium quality. Yesterday was the first time I wore this to summit Mt. Baldy. I got blisters on both heels. I was so disappointed, I've had Vasque boots before, I am an avid hiker, have done Half Dome, Grand Canyon, etc and NEVER got blisters from old Vasque boots. Boots felt comfortable, had liner and wool socks, were laced up good. Not sure why I got blisters, maybe I needed a smaller size?? Need to find something quick as I am hiking up to Mt. Whitney end of Augustâ¦..

Rated 5 out of 5Â by HardHappyHarry those shoes saved my feet and knees.
Highly recommand those. even if they seem a bit expensive at first I don't regret a single penny spend on those.
Took a 6 month backpacking trip in the US. walking between 5 to 18 miles every day with a 50, 55 pounds backpack. It wouldn't have been possible with my regular choes (old school army boots) I worn them out in about 5 months but during thoses 5 months I walk more that I usualy do in about 2 or 3 years. exposing them to City concrete, rocky trails, Texas summer heat, sand and salt from two oceans and a desert... Without greasing them a single time. They've hold up longer than I had the right to expect. They're 1 years old now and they're still my everyday/construction shoes even with the holes...
Might hurt a tiny little bit the first couple of days ( nothing bad), the lacing need some times to get used to. An oh. Change your socks often or they will melt the eyeballs of everyone in a two miles radius.
Is they're any ways to get those in Europe? I realy need a new pair of shoes, and well... I don't want to go back to Belgium combat boots.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Valley2Valley A few months in
I've had a pair of the 2014 model now for about 4 months (got it on sale because the 2015 model was in). The fit is only slightly large, but that's good to allow for foot swelling IMO. I've mainly used them as my winter boot around the city, and on a few shorter day hikes, but they are incredibly comfortable. For non-trail use, I've noticed that they are VERY slippery on smooth, wet metal surfaces (even more so than other shoes), such as an outdoor escalator or sidewalk storm grate. I wouldn't hold that against Vasque, though, since the traction is top-notch on natural surfaces like stone, scree, etc. I assume it's tough to manufacture a shoe that's got good traction on both!

The boot has all what i need for my walks in the rainforest. It's true size (10.5) buy it 10.5 2E (W) because the regular model is very narrow. 2E !! PERFECT !! . then tell them about their performance.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Cale The best hiking boots I've ever owned
I tried about 20 different pairs of boots before I finally pulled the trigger on these. I was hesitant to spend the money, but they are worth every penny. I haven't had these boots very long, but I've already put them through their paces.
A day hike at red rocks in ice and snow was beyond pleasant. I didn't lose traction once, the boots kept my feet dry, and my feet were incredibly warm thanks to thick wool socks. These boots also handled an 10 mile urban trek through Denver's grime. I only lost traction once on an iced over sheet of metal in the sidewalk while walking downhill. I wore them several days in Keystone and A-basin (before and after snowboarding) and my feet never got wet or cold -- even when walking through knee deep snow and ankle deep slush.
Mobility is amazing in these boots without compromising stability. I would highly recommend trying these. They may not work for you, but they're the best hiking boots I've ever owned.
I grabbed mine at REI, and would encourage you to do the same. Their return policy is peerless. Good luck finding boots. I hope this review helps.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Lonesomeprairie Best boots I've ever owned!
Let's face it: finding the perfect boot isn't easy. For me, the search ended here! They are my go-to for hiking all year around. I also wear them around town when it is cold/wet. I absolutely love them. I have gotten all my boots at REI and these are by far the cream of the crop. I have an older version with red laces and accents and I was hoping to be able to purchase a new pair of the same kind. Any chance that style will reappear? Thanks for making the best boot, Vasque!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Tristan22 Good boot but did not last
The boots fit well and are very comfortable. They need to be broken in before heading out on a long hike. My biggest complaint about these boots is that the soles on both boots started to come off withing 4 months of purchasing. Whenever I wore the boots while it was wet the soles would squeak for days.
