Here’s a boot ready for frigid temps, but with the performance, fit, and feel of an alpine hiking boot. We doubled up on insulation, added a fleece collar lining, and outfitted the sole with our ColdHold Compound. Think of the Snowburban as one of our capable, deft mountain boots, just pumped up for your coldest days. Waterproof and exceptionally warm, forget about your feet when you pull them on. As for your hands and the tip of your nose, those are other matters entirely…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Winter boot! There are excellent outdoor Winter work boots. I have had mine for two years now and I work outside all year around. These are waterproof and warm. The two things I demand in a boot. Very comfortable all day long. Easy to put on and take off. Great boot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots that kept me warm Bought these boots for a 2 week photography trip into Yellowstone NP in early February. Most days temps were from 3 degrees in the morning to a high of 28-30 during the afternoon. Snow was around 4 ft deep and it snowed every day for the first 5 days. My feet were never too cold for me to stop what I was doing. The traction was great most of the time, and I put on ICEtrekkers when there was solid ice on the roads or trails. Longest time I spent just standing around in the boots was about 2 hours - someone had spotted a Bobcat that had gone into hiding across the Madison River and about 30 photographers stood around hoping it would come out (it did not). I wore smartwool sock liners with smartwool mountaineer socks. I usually wear size 11 but ordered size 12 to allow more sock room, but size 12 seemed too tight with the socks on. Switched to size 13 and they worked well except for hard snow hiking - then they were a little too loose to be completely comfortable. But there is no size 12.5 :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for Standing Still I bought these boots for light snow activities i.e, shoveling, sledding etc for the New Jersey winters. Unfortunately, my toes are always cold within a few minutes, even with light activity and wool socks. However, I did have the occasion to do an hour plus hike in Vermont in heavy snow and with the activity they worked perfectly. All in all I would recommend these boots for anyone going to be doing aerobic activity in the winter/snow like hiking or snow shoeing. They are well made and comfortable, they are just not warm enough for standing still or light activity. I am going to have to find something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for COLD WEATHER If you are looking for a great boot that will keep your feet warm...this is it! The Snowburban is a great comfortable boot for outdoor activities work or play. I do find the boot a bit tough to wear inside as it's a pretty heavy duty boot. Great looks, lots of compliments, you won't be disappointed in this great boot from Vasque.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and as warm as I needed Headed to the north slope of Alaska in October, I packed these boots with a little apprehension: would they be warm enough? After ten days on the tundra, the answer was a resounding yes. My toes were never once cold while on the move, and only after standing still in 20 degree weather for an hour did the slightest discomfort begin to register. These boots are now a prized part of my shoe quiver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bring on the MN Winter! Let me begin by saying this is the first review I've ever taken the time to write. As someone that works outside in the elements year round regardless of the weather conditions here in MN, this is not only a good boot but an outstanding one. I was given a new pair by a friend after a debate about the best boots for the job. He loved his but I wasn't convinced. That quickly changed and like others on the site, I'm here now looking to buy another pair not because there's anything wrong with mine but because if something did happen to them, I'd throw a fit. They're built extremely well and incredibly durable. They stood up to the constant salt. rock abrasions and deep mud that I threw at them on the daily basis. Regardless of temperature just a little activity and they work perfect. I'm actually excited for the cold so I can get these babies out of the closet. Go Vasque!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to winter boot I like this boot so much that I have a second brand new pair in the closet for when my original pair eventually wears out. They keep my feet comfortable, warm and dry while hiking the mountains in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire. They work great with Microspikes and my strap on crampons. During February of 2016 I took this boot on a 10 mile hike in the Adirondack High Peaks in New York. Starting temperature was -18 degrees F, and my feet were never cold. On that note, the only con is that they can be too warm. For me, this occurs if the temperature is around 30 degrees F, or warmer. I usually just switch to a thinner sock and move on. Overall, this is a fantastic boot for me, and I highly recommend it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking boot that needs improvement for cold weather use I bought a pair of these boots after much research on cold weather boots. I used them in Alaska, Svalbard and most recently in Swedish Lapland, all during winter months with decent snow pack. The bottom line is, these boots look good and should keep your feet warm but as soon as you are out 30 minutes in any temperature lower than -15 c, your toes will get very cold and it just moves across your feet if you don't get out of the cold and get the boots off. Also the area around the ankle is just too tight and finally, I've gone through two pair of laces and I've not worn the boots for a total of more than 2 months over three separate cold weather trips. I'd like to see Vasque make a solid, dependable arctic rated boot, this model is probably not suited for any more than trekking in late winter or early spring, with no heavy snow pack and temperatures above -15 Celsius.
