I like this boot so much that I have a second brand new pair in the closet for when my original pair eventually wears out. They keep my feet comfortable, warm and dry while hiking the mountains in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire. They work great with Microspikes and my strap on crampons.
During February of 2016 I took this boot on a 10 mile hike in the Adirondack High Peaks in New York. Starting temperature was -18 degrees F, and my feet were never cold.
On that note, the only con is that they can be too warm. For me, this occurs if the temperature is around 30 degrees F, or warmer. I usually just switch to a thinner sock and move on.
Overall, this is a fantastic boot for me, and I highly recommend it!

I bought a pair of these boots after much research on cold weather boots. I used them in Alaska, Svalbard and most recently in Swedish Lapland, all during winter months with decent snow pack. The bottom line is, these boots look good and should keep your feet warm but as soon as you are out 30 minutes in any temperature lower than -15 c, your toes will get very cold and it just moves across your feet if you don't get out of the cold and get the boots off. Also the area around the ankle is just too tight and finally, I've gone through two pair of laces and I've not worn the boots for a total of more than 2 months over three separate cold weather trips. I'd like to see Vasque make a solid, dependable arctic rated boot, this model is probably not suited for any more than trekking in late winter or early spring, with no heavy snow pack and temperatures above -15 Celsius.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by COwinterhiker Withstood a 14er winter ascent
Used for first time on an ascent of a Colorado 14'er. Starting temps around 20F, ending back at the car at 12k ft around 38F. Not much snow, but drifting had some areas knee-deep. A lot of 10 inch deep snow - just to the top of the boot. I was using pants that cinch down, not gaiters.
Feet stayed warm and dry. Two sock system: poly liners, wool outer. Comfortable on the descent. Great ankle stability and traction.
Upper lacing a bother to loosen and cinch down, but might be easier as they wear in.

I had no experience with purchasing cold weather gear for personal use. I was headed to Pittsburgh to shoot a film that started in January. This boot was recommended to me by Maureen at REI. Since I wear a 14-15 I was leary of trying the 14 but it fit perfectly. I have been in Pittsburgh for over a month now and my feet have never felt better in a work boot. My experience with this boot has been nothing but extraordinary. Good Job!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by AM45 Great boot, but design of metal eyelets are a disservice.
I've recently just completed an intensive period of use with these boots- 30 straight days of almost daily use in varying snow conditions and terrain. The boots themselves are well constructed and I'm quite pleased with how they are holding up. Additionally they are quite comfortable to wear and I was pleased with a minimal amount of time needed to break in the boots. The only drawback to the design is the metal eyelets for the bootlaces. After about 30 days of use both laces on both boots were worn through. A friend has the same boots and had the same issue. I expect bootlaces to eventually wear out, but this is much faster than I'm used to. I'd suggest looking into a redesign of that component to prevent premature wear on the laces. Other than this issue with the laces this is an excellent boot and I expect to have and use the boot for many years.

I got the Snowburban ultra dry's for an expedition to Iceland, my idea was that I wanted to fit a strap on crampon to a flexible lightweight boot because I was so tired of years of trekking around in heavy plastic double boot. It worked great, the crampon must be very flexible but your legs stay light & you can push for longer days with a lighter boot. What I didn't realize at the time was how comfortable they would be, they ended up being my primary snowshoeing boot & hanging around the yard shoveling boot. The most comfortable winter boot I have ever worn.
