Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dirtnerd Awesome all day boot
I work in the forest most days and don't really like heavy leather boots so I bought these. Yesterday they were put to the ultimate test of standing in very cold glacier meadow water for over an hour to just above my ankles. I could feel the coldness of the water outside the boot, but nothing leaked in. The waterproof goretex liner is pretty legit. The only downside is it's so waterproof that sometimes my feet get a little moist sweating, but not nearly as bad as my hot leather boots. Would totally buy these again.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Hikercat I loved my shoes!!!!
I bought a pair of these at the end of 2010 and they are still going strong with well over 100 miles, through interesting places.... Being in Washington State I did a lot of hiking in the rain, through mud, thick mire, 2ft high fields of seaweed- a stinky place to be for sure! They performed beautifully. The only time I got a blister was when I wore my socks incorrectly. I generally wear a liner sock and a wool sock over it, no matter what the temperature. My feet DID get wet, but it was due to being in the water over the top of the shoe. Use of gaiters stopped that. I always carry extra socks with me. There were many times though that my feet stayed dry despite the rest of me looking like the swamp monster..... great shoes! One last hint, I can kill a pair of shoes in 3 months or less, so I used orthotic inserts which helped immensely!

These are excellent boots. Comfortable, fit well, good traction, good support, lightweight...but the one thing I need in a boot is that it be waterproof. I can stand in a shallow puddle, and my feet are immediately wet. I would like to return them, because the boots were advertised as waterproof, and I often hike through puddles and small streams. It's a necessary feature for my needs.

Bought these as my first pair of hiking boots in Sept 2014. Overall pretty comfortable, but have repeatedly shown themselves to be NOT waterproof (on hikes in Hawaii, Yosemite, Texas!) So sad when hiking with my girlfriend...she stomps through every stream in her 10 year old pair of Asolos, while I jump over every puddle in these boots!!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Chimpgirl A zookeeper's dream!
I work at an animal sanctuary and I needed a pair of shoes that would a.) keep my feet dry b.) protect me from injury (sticks, rocks, etc) c.) be light and comfy and d.) give me ankle support. After purchasing these shoes I will never again buy cheap boots. They are fantastic. I do a lot of climbing and never once had them slip out on me. We do daily hosing and after 7 months my feet are still dry. Super high quality. Super comfortable. Just overall, fantastic.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by TiffanySue Comfy shoe, lacking in water-resistance
I bought these boots for a trip to Yosemite with long, rugged trails. I had planned on breaking them in, but work got in the way of hiking and I took them to Yosemite anyways, hoping the first day would break them in. After only walking around for maybe 3 miles, I ended up hiking with them the next day up to Yosemite Falls (2,700 foot ascent in 3.5 miles) and they fit like a dream. No blisters, feet felt great. The second day, I wore a different brand of socks and had issues with the grommets rubbing on my ankle bone and the back of the shoe rubbing my heel (not in terms of blisters, but deep rubbing). I figured I just needed to wear them more, so I wore them for the last day with the thicker socks and they fit much better, with only
Slight rubbing from the grommets. BUT, after trekking through snow, my feet were absolutely SOAKED and freezing, making me think that they are not really meant for water to be near them. Otherwise, great boot.

What I LOVE about these boots is that they fit my ankle. My ankle bone is much closer to the floor than most people's, and I have high arches. Almost all boots end up bruising me on the underside of my ankle bone! This one manages to be narrow enough to actually fit without giving me ankle bruising. I also like how light-weight they are. They've definitely saved me from turning and injuring my ankle more than a few times too-pretty good support.
These are a bit pricey for the quality- they've lasted two years, with me replacing the insole twice with inserts. I wouldn't recommend them for backpacking. The sole is completely worn down now, after two years. I weigh 130 lbs.
What is NOT good about these is they aren't really waterproof- water resistant maybe, but they were never waterproof.
