Duncan Callahan
Duncan Callahan lives and trains above 7,000’ in the rugged town of Gunnison, CO. Competitively ultra-running since 2007, Duncan resume includes two Leadville Trail 100 wins, a Moab 100 win, a Grand Mesa Ultra 50 and Spring Desert Ultra 50 win and multiple wins and top finishes through the years in other challenging trail races. When we asked him why he runs he told us there are many reasons; to move, to simplify, to be in the mountains, sage, tress, sun, rain, snow, heat and cold and to embrace all of these extremes. He sees endurance as a life-skill and loves to compete with himself and push through discomforts to reach the goals he has set before himself at the start of every new race season. During peak training season, you will find Callahan averaging 110 - 180 miles a week during his runs. Callahan trains and races in the new Vasque Pendulum. Read about Duncan’s latest adventure!

VASQUE SPONSORSHIPS
Mount Washington Observatory
With wicked weather a daily reality, Mt. Washington Observatory is a perfect fit for Vasque's authentic footwear engineered and built to withstand harsh conditions, rugged wear, and the tests of time. Vasque supplies the mountaintop crew with its industry leading hiking boots in the summer months, and boots from the new insulated collection for the fall and winter months.
6,288-foot Mount Washington, New Hampshire is located at the convergence of three major storm tracks, meaning it is battered year-round by some of the most brutal conditions on the planet. Staffed continuously since the Observatory's founding in 1932, scientists venture outdoors every hour to manually observe and record the weather—even in hurricane-force winds, sub-zero temperatures, white-out snow storms and pelting, freezing rain.
Utilizing up to 400 grams of 3M™ Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation, a premium insulator used in top quality outerwear, and UltraDry™, a Vasque proprietary waterproof membrane, the Vasque insulated collection is ready to keep feet warm and dry—even in the "Home of the World's Worst Weather," as Mount Washington is known.
Tri-Province Arctic Canoe Expedition
The Tri-Province Arctic Canoe Expedition is a group of six men from a wilderness camp in Minnesota who will spend the summer of 2013 paddling to the Arctic Ocean. Having learned the lessons of camaraderie, hard work and environmental stewardship as campers and staff on Camp Kooch-i-Ching trips in Ontario and Manitoba, their sights are now set on the Barren Lands of northern Canada. Although several groups have traveled to the Arctic Ocean by canoe, the Tri-Province Canoe Expedition will be one of the most ambitious to date. Their expedition will begin in Black Lake, Saskatchewan, and they will finish on the rarely traveled Armark River. In between the two points, they will pass through three Canadian provinces and travel nearly 900 miles, intending to document a remote northern wilderness setting and its wildlife to promote awareness of the Arctic's fragile ecosystem and the threats it has and will continue to face due to climate change. The Tri-Province team includes Kyle Terry, a research assistant from Eureka, CA; Ben Woods, a photojournalist from St. Louis, MO; Henry Cordeal, afterschool program staff from St. Louis, MO; Jess Hernandez, a professional adventure guide from Bryan, TX; Chris Martella, a ski lodge employee from Washington, DC; and Andrew Hubb, a graduate student from St. Louis, MO.
