What's New with Team DART Nuun?

by Cory Yankush | Apr 16, 2013

2012 was a light adventure race season for Team DART Nuun.

In May the team got together for a weekend of training that kicked off with a trek up Mt. Shasta, one of California’s 12, “14ers”.  The Velocity 2.0 GTX trail shoes paired with a set of crampons made reaching the summit at 14,179 feet not a problem.

In June they traveled to Northern Maine for the Untamed New England Expedition Race. After 3 ½ days of solid racing the team crossed the finish line in 2nd place and earned a spot to compete at the World Championships. In September, the team packed up their gear which included a couple of pairs of Mindbenders & Velocity 2.0’s and was off to France for the 2012 World Championships.

The French Alps provided the ultimate challenge and the perfect setting for a true adventure.  Dart finished the 500 km course in 20th place after 7 days of trekking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking, orienteering, ropes and canyoneering.

2013 will find DART racing in Michigan, Wyoming, Indiana, California, Brazil and hopefully concluding the season at the World Championships in Costa Rica at the end of the year.   We are excited to try out the new Pendulums and will be happy if they are even ½ as good as the Velocity 2.0’s.
