UPPER

A 2mm waterproof nubuck leather and abrasion resistant air mesh upper is designed to maximize breathability. Molded toe and heel counters add durability and are designed with vents to add increased breathability. A Gore-Tex membrane with extended comfort waterproof membrane provides guaranteed protection in wet environments while also being highly breathable. A speed lace system allows for quick fit adjustments and the locking ankle hook adds security and a positive fit.

SOLE

A dual density compression molded midsole has a main chassis molded in Vasque’s All-Terrain compound for excellent compression resistance and torsional stability while the EVA comfort density provides athletic level cushioning and great step in comfort. An instep TPU shank balances the need for stability, while still remaining nimble. The Vasque exclusive Vibram Contact Grip outsole was designed specifically for use with the incredible Megagrip rubber compound, delivering great loose trail traction with uncompromising grip on rocky terrain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from That Vibram soles ruined the boots Very comfortable light boots but the soles wont last more than a few months for me unlike my previous boots (Asolo) that I had for many years. Oh and forget about the "Megagrip", the adherence is also below average on rocks (wet or not). It is actually insane for a company like Vasque to use such a low quality product and even more strange that Vibram would put their name on it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from String loops break to easy! I have owned 6 pairs of these boots. I love the comfort and fit. My only complaint is 3 pairs out of the 6, the center string loops have broke. They need to have quality control look into this problem. When the ones I took back to where I bought them gets replaced, If the string loops break I will never buy them again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money, and don’t bother sending photos Bought a pair of these when staying with my daughter in Colorado, and was delighted with the comfort and fit straight from the box. Wore them twice on hikes in the US and have used them last Summer/ Autumn on about a dozen short coastal hikes. Was concerned with the wear on the soles - the uppers are as new - and contacted the Company as shown on website. I was asked to send photos of the wear and got a message back saying it looks like normal wear and not as a result of any ‘defect ‘. I’d suggest rapidly wearing rubber soles IS a defect and make for a pretty expensive boot - about 12 dollars a hike. Guess I’ll just use them for gardening now, and not buy or recommend Vasque again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Paid for Gore-Tex, got a wet foot My wife had Vasque Breeze boots for years and loved them, so she bought me a pair. I loved the fit and comfort, but after less than half a dozen trips totaling less than 30 miles, I found that they weren't waterproof at all. Not a slow seep, but my foot and sock would get completely soaked from one step in a puddle. I wasn't able to get out hiking much when I first got them, so it wasn't until after the warranty expired that I discovered the problem. I contacted Vasque and they basically told me that the warranty was over so I was out of luck. I really liked these shoes and wish that I could wear them hiking and hunting, but without waterproofness, they are pretty much useless to me. I could have bought shoes for half the price or less if I wanted a wet foot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Winter Use? I have found these boots to very cold for winter use. I thought the thinsulate would keep my feet warm but that assumption was wrong. I'm going to have find an alternative.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not like the Breeze II My Breeze IIs are starting to show some end of life after 3 years of very rugged hiking in the mountains. These have been great boots. So stopped into REI to look at the Breeze IIIs. I had my old Breeze IIs with me which helped me in the comparison. I could see how my old ones had worn and the changes to the new ones. I was disappointed in what I found. The soles on the new boots are lighter, thinner and actually had about as much rubber as my mostly worn-out soles. this means they are about 1/2 as thick as the old ones. the next think is that in the old ones there are these hard plastic pieces between the soles and the thick cushion layer. These are part of what made these older boots hold up and have torsional rigidity. This is gone and replaces with of all things a lighter piece of foam rubber. In the pictures it looks like the same thing but not in real life. The next thing is the front toe bumper on the old pair has taken some abuse but is still there. The new bumper does not look like it would hold up. Bottom line is the new boots look like fashion boots. So I gave up and found some older Vasque Talus GTXs in the REI garage. I hope they work out, they probably will, nice thick soles and apparent toughness. I have no idea why they would change from what was a great boot they are already making and turn it into a fashion boot. Oh well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as its predecessor in quality Comfortable boot, have owned numerous pairs of Vasque boots but it seems the quality has degraded significantly. The old boots including the Breeze II were better made. The glue on the toe bumpers started coming loose almost immediately and since I had wore them in the outdoors (where you are supposed to wear them) they could not be returned so I have parked them in the closet to keep them from coming apart. This is the only major fault and the others are wear related so I will probably end up with another pair after the older pair completely fails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Believer My first pair of Vasque boots were original Sundowners that lasted me over 17 years. I wore them until I couldn't literally wear them any longer. I am an outdoor adventure lifestyle photographer and hiking is highest on my list of outdoor activities that I feel passionate about in both my work and my personal life. The Breeze III's have been a welcome addition to my footwear collection. They broke in very quickly, keep my feet bone dry, warm and I have not witnessed any wear and tear like others have mentioned that is beyond what would occur from natural use. After all these are hiking boots. My Breeze III's literally feel like slippers now and I feel comfortable wearing them for long trail days or just getting around Denver on a cold winter or wet kind of day. The grip has been amazing especially on rocks in Moab, Utah. Overall extremely satisfied.
