Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fitting hiking shoe, switched from Keen Targhee II I have used Keen Targhee II for almost ten years. I need a firm, extra wide, durable hiking shoe. I stand on wood floors (PE Teacher), uneven ground (coaching), and do much hiking and climbing when on vacations and weekends. I wear a 11.5 Extra wide Targhee, fit well, lots of room in the toe. I actually am measured as a 10.5 EEE, the 11.5 felt better and always ordered the size up. But Went into REI and they said they do not make an extra wide shoe anymore, I was really bummed. Klaus at the REI store in Oakbrook, ILL, suggested a Vasque Breeze III. I told him I need a very firm, wide hiking shoe. After walking around in them it was amazing they actually felt more comfortable and firmer than my Keen's, which I did not think I would ever find another shoe. After many weeks I am loving these shoes. My feet give me a feeling that I could walk all day. I was super surprised how good I felt with these shoes on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great shoe , though major flaw Just getting back from a Appalachian Trail Thru hike completion. I can now pour through some of the defective gear that I sent back to myself from my time on the trail. I originally got these shoes for days when I would be slack packing (hiking the AT without a pack) . Though In the first week in a fairly easy section of Vermont . These particular shoes showed some product defects .. I don’t think the material was sewed properly or glued correctly , not sure . Hoping to get a new pair or an exchange of some sort .. because they fit great , they are super comfortable .. and have a great muted color and look.. I’ve talked to others about the same shoes and they say when you get a complete pair , the shoes can last forever with proper care and usage .. Bummed , though I know all will be remedied in time . Look for a review update .. if/when I can get a new pair .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the last but not breathable I love the fit on the breeze 3 gtx high and low for women. I bought them for work since i'm running around all day. I have had many vasque gtx trail running shoes ( 4 pairs of the blur) and winter/ insulated boots (2 pair). My only criticism is that my feet are very hot in the new GTX while indoors- the material doesnt seem very breathable. Even my winter vasque boot is more comfortable. That is the only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars. Has there been a change to this material? It makes me hesitate to get another pair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from something wrong with them I have breeze boots and absolutely love them. So I ordered the shoes in the same exact size for wearing when I didn't need the support of boots. But something seems to be wrong with them. They are smaller than the boots as other reviewers have noted. But even worse, the instep curves up and pushes deeply into my foot so that I can barely wear them. It's very frustrating how two shoes of the same size and model can be do different. I'll need to return these and, of course, i'll be out the shipping cost. I thought it would be safe to order these online but I guess with shoes you really need to go to a store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Comfortable Hikers I have difficulty finding shows that fit well since I have short wide feet. I went into my local Redwing store and the sales associated measured my feet. I usually wear a size 9 even though my length isn't really a 9. I have found that my feel swell while hiking and a shoe that fit relatively well started getting tight as the miles pile up. Personally, I think these run a little small hence the size 10 for someone who usually wears a size 9. I tried a similar showe on in a size 10 wide and they fit very well. I ordered these shoes and they came in about a week later. These are probably the first hiking shoes that really fit my feet. They are lightweight and extremely comfortable. I'm wearing them around the house for now but they really don't require a break-in period. The length is just right and the wide size gives my feet room to move around a little bit and accommodate any swelling that occurs during a long hike. I also have a very high arch and often I have to purchase a custom orthotic insert instead of settling for the flimsy cheap insert that comes with most shoes. The insert that comes with these shoes are very supportive and comfortable. They are more like the $25.00-$30.00 inserts that you have to pay extra to get. Take the time you need to try shoes in and don't be in a big hurry to walk out of the store with shoes that "kinda fit." These are the highest quality and most comfortable hikers I have ever purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding This is my second pair of Vasque hiking shoes. My first pair lasted several years of hikes, outdoor projects and weekend use. Solid construction and great fit. They are stiff until broken in but once they are they don’t loose their shape or durability. Great bottom too!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid One of the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. I though they might get better as time went on but not happening.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a good fit for me Seems like a solid, well put together shoe, but I don't like the fit. First of all, It runs really short. I wear a 9.5 in dress shoes, 10-10.5 in athletic and hiking shoes/boots. I ordered a 10.5 (I was out of town for the REI sale) and it was short, although the toe box was plenty big. Took it to the REI store and swapped it for the 11. The length OK, but the toe box is too roomy. Maybe it will be just right for the next guy, but it isn't going to work for me. I tried a Talus this evening and it fit like a glove, so I'm going to make that switch.
