PARTNERSHIPS

EVERYDAY OUTSIDERS

At Vasque, we believe that by simply stepping outside you can feel better on the inside. Unfortunately, this is not a reality for all humans. We are investing in change makers who are working within their own communities to increase equitable access to nature and the benefits of spending time outside. These partnerships are focused on breaking down barriers, increasing access, and creating an inclusive community.

EVELYNN ESCOBAR
Hike Clerb

Hi, I’m Evelynn! I am a vision expander, a planet and people defender, and an all-around changemaker. I am a Black Latina of indigenous descent. I visited my first national park at 23 and it was that trip that inspired me to create Hike Clerb. Hike Clerb is the solution to the problems I was facing in the homogenous outdoors. I sought to create a safe space for Black, Indigenous, women of color to collectively heal in nature.

TOMMY COREY
Photographer

My name is Tommy Corey, but if you meet me on the trail, I will probably introduce myself as ’Twerk’. As an LGBTQ+ person and thru-hiker, I noticed during my PCT journey that the trail was lacking diversity. I have dedicated my work to celebrate all bodies, races, genders and abilities in the outdoors. Hopefully, creating safe spaces and accessibility to everyone who wants to seek it outside.

JAYLYN GOUGH
Native Women’s Wilderness

Yá’át’ééh shí éí Jaylyn Yenabah Gough, yíníshyé and I’m from the Diné (Navajo) tribe. As Rez kids, we were always outside, the Land was our playground, our sacred place. I created Native Women’s Wilderness in frustration at the lack of Native voices in the Outdoor Industry. So, I created a platform to elevate and raise their stories, their connection to the land, their pain, and own joys.
