Are we connected?
It doesn't feel like I thought it would.
I used to think these screens were a bridge
to lives outside of my own.
But I was alone staring at my reflection.
Then one day,
the road opened up before me.
Powerfully and blinding.
So I let go.
Followed the road less travelled.
I went as far as I could,
then further.
And beneath the mountains I used to hide
with broken hopes and broken promises,
I re-emerged.
Seeing things anew,
I won't blink.
I won't go back.
